Logo design process by MMagic Design [oo]

Nov 06

This video is prepared by www.MMagic.net.
Scetch + Scan + work in Adobe Illustrator
Here you can read more about the movie :

I filmed myself from start to finish, the process of designing a logo and time lapsed the whole thing for your viewing pleasure! :)
The Logo:
The brief required me to design a logo for “Saniware” a company which specializes in sanitary wares and bathroom toilet fixtures.
It was essential for the logo to have a distinct logo mark. This mark must be modern, fresh, uncomplicated, bold, positive, and best of all elegant. It also must express modernism, design, high quality and eco-friendliness.

I hope you enjoy!

Cheers,
Mason Roberts”

Nice video. But i would try to finalize the whole thing on paper first.

Yes, i know, the computer has magical addiciton, where you can try different font-types for the headline/title text, but if i were you, in the future i would sit down to the computer only when i am 100% satisfied with the result on the paper.

    Anyway, i like your video.

I like to draw for a few reasons:

    - I’m lazy and drawing a few sketches is the easiest way to go somewhere… as a starting point for the vector work.

    - When drawing, I can see on the sheet(s) - the evolution of the idea… and this observation guides me to the next step, to the next shape…. While in the monitor… I usually see fewer variations of the logo and they are always much alike the one that I’m creating at the moment. In the sheet - things are different - you are braver there.. the strokes are more different in every variation.. - the phases of changing are bigger.

    - Using only a pencil and my hand gives me not so strict lines… And every good idea starts with some wrong move of the line, some curve, that should not be there…. Something beyond the ordinary logic of the shape…
And then - you try to grasp that idea and tame it in the graphic design rules…

    :)
