This symantecbrandguidelines is more about the logo itself. The documents is from 2000, but still – it looks like designed yesterday. I think it’s unuasual that the guideline covers more the logic of designing the symbol / logo, than the usage itself. This is an interesting approach. The PDF is not big – just 20 pages, 245 KB, but it must be seen. Here we meet again the polite and intelligent way…
Interesting logo render, isn’t it ? It’s a Google logo, rendered with action script in Flash. The author is Mark Knol. You can look at his artworks in flickr by clicking on the name. :)
A clean and ordered logo guidelines about the previous AT&T mark. Old, but gold ! I like the way things are presented – pages are not empty, but not too crowded with schemes – you can easily absorb the information. Also simple explanations are given, so that a non-designer should work in a correct manner with the logo. Just click on the picture to open the PDF in a new window.
Boom Festival is being held for the first time in 2008, Portugal. It is a complex event where a lot of performances meet. Watch this movie to meet the idea .. … and then watch the logo case, so that you can understand the idea of the symbol these guys came with :) I think the approach was great, but the final product could be better. For example – the logo will be used in a lot of mediums, so…

The movie is showing the use of “artboards” – these are like different sheets that you can work on at the same time and also cover each other, so it’s like you are designing on one table ( like in real life ), without loosing sight of the other sheets.. Something familiar as a functionality has already been created in InDesign, but here – it’s more dynamic, intuitive and easy to use. Great for all…
This is Mini E. Only 500 owners will drive the yellow “E” logo. “E” stands for Electricity. I want to share this logo with you for some reasons: It’s new, it’s witty, it’s a classic styled logo ( 2d, simple primitives, etc.), and it’s great. The E is “eaten” from a cirle, showing us a “electric plug” – telling the hole story of this mini model in a simple sign. A yellow one. No way to miss it…
Walter J. Diethelm ( the author ) is born in Switzerland. He was devoted to typography and graphic design. Died in Zurich, 1986. As far as I can see – he’s an author of some other interesing stuff. If someone is familiar with his Bio – please, share :)
Designers sometimes do crazy stuff like making a font out of a single word or phrase. Of course, these should be written in a specific way. The following font design is created based on the logotype of Oracle Corporations – an American multinational computer technology corporation. “Oracle” specializes in developing and marketing computer hardware systems and enterprise software products. Credits…
I hope this movie will inspire you. Here’s what the guys from moving brands say about the project: Swisscom, one of the leading brands and a market leader in Switzerland (with more than 60% average share of market), is perceived as one of the most trusted brands by Swiss people. The Swisscom re-brand is the final step to a major restructuring of the whole Swisscom organisation which will see…
